For step by step directions to Destin from your home go to www.mapquest.com , click on Driving Direction tab. Enter your home address or your start point. For Destin, enter 775 Gulf Shore Drive, Destin, FL 32541. At the bottom, click on the "Get Directions" button and it should give you good directions. Compare those with those below and choose which suits you best.

Planning on flying?  There is Destin Airport a FBO, about a mile away if you pilot. We are also served by Ft. Walton Beach Airport http://www.co.okaloosa.fl.us/airport_maps.html VPS, Panama City http://www.pcairport.com/PNF and Pensacola http://www.flypensacola.com/ PNC.

THE FIRST ROUTE, from Atlanta take Interstate 85 south, to Interstate 185 toward Columbus, GA. Take Exit 7 off I-185 toward Phenix City, AL on the US 80 connector. At the dead-end, turn left at the light and go South on 80 & 431 about two miles until 431 exits south toward Eufaula-Dothan, exit right onto 431. Go South on 431 through Eufaula and around Dothan on 431, on the Dothan perimeter road. You will pick up US 231 south, continue on 431/231 until they split and you will turn left onto 231 South and continue until you junction with Interstate 10. It's well marked but watch the signs as you must take a LEFT TURN onto I-10. Go west on I-10 until you reach the Defuniac Springs Exit, US 331, go south on 331 'till you dead-end into US 98. Turn right on 98 for twelve miles to the traffic light on the corner of 98 and Gulf Shore Drive, turn left and follow the wooden fence on your right to the Sandpiper Cove Guard Gate, and you are there.

THE SECOND ROUTE. Continue on I-85 to the Montgomery area, take exit 6, go over the freeway and head south on the by-pass road (Ala. 152) 'till the intersection of US 331 south. Continue directly south to where 331 dead ends into the beach highway, US 98. At the beach road US 98 turn RIGHT toward Destin. Down the road a few miles (12) you begin to see the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. From here see US 98 directions above.

THE THIRD ROUTE, is a slightly longer, though maybe quicker route because it has more Interstate. Continue into Montgomery on I-85 until it dead-ends into I-65. Go south on I-65 toward toward Mobile. At the Georgiana exit (#114) turn left over the freeway and head South on US 31/Ala 55 through Andalusia to Florala. In Florala pick up highway 85 south through Eglin AFB into Ft. Walton Beach. Highway Fla. 85 dead ends at Ft. Walton Beach into Highway 98. Turn LEFT (East) on US 98 toward Destin over the Brooks Bridge, pass the amusement park, over the Destin Bridge. Down 98 through Destin two miles on your right coming up across from the Bruno's center will be the wooden Sandpiper Cove perimeter fence. Turn right at the Texaco quik mart onto Gulf Shore Drive and follow the signs to the guard gate.

FROM DALLAS AND POINTS WEST, go east on Interstate 10 through Pensacola to the exit for Highway 85 south to Fort Walton. Go south on highway 85 through Eglin AFB into Ft. Walton Beach. Highway Fla. 85 dead ends at Ft. Walton Beach into Highway 98. Turn LEFT (East) on US 98 toward Destin over the Brooks Bridge, pass the amusement park on Okaloosa Island, over the Destin Bridge. Down 98 through Destin two miles on your right coming up across from the Bruno's Center will be the wooden Sandpiper Cove perimeter fence. Turn right at the Texaco quik mart onto Gulf Shore Drive and follow the signs to the guard gate.

FROM ST. LOUIS AND POINTS NORTHWEST, go South on Interstate 55 toward New Orleans then East on I-10 through Pensacola to the exit for Highway 85 south to Fort Walton. Go south on highway 85 through Eglin AFB into Ft. Walton Beach. Highway Fla. 85 dead ends at Ft. Walton Beach into Highway 98. Turn LEFT (East) on US 98 toward Destin over the Brooks Bridge, pass the amusement park on Okaloosa Island, over the Destin Bridge.
